It’s a familiar story, but the first trailer for the horror thriller Brightburn gives it an interesting twist.
A couple in a small town want to have a child and can’t. One day, a ship crash lands and they find an infant that they choose to raise as their own. When their young child begins to feel different and exhibit unusual powers, everyone soon discovers that the child was sent to Earth for a reason and it might not be a good one.
What if a child from another world crash-landed on Earth, but instead of becoming a hero to mankind, he proved to be something far more sinister? With Brightburn, the visionary filmmaker of Guardians of the Galaxy and Slither presents a startling, subversive take on a radical new genre: superhero horror.
Brightburn stars Elizabeth Banks David Denman Jackson A. Dunn Matt Jones and Meredith Hagner. It was written by Mark Gunn & Brian Gunn. Brightburn is produced by James Gunn and directed by David Yarovesky.
Brightburn will release in theaters Memorial Day.
