The Rundown: The Avengers find themselves in a desperate battle to save reality.
The world is lost. Taken over and being destroyed by a powerful entity, the remaining Avengers decide to avenge the planet even if it costs them their lives. Marching into battle, the team puts everything they have into the fight. A fight that will claim all of them except one, who discovers the truth about the battle.
When the lone Avenger comes back to reality, she discovers that the threat she just faced isn’t the only one when the Impossible City is invaded by a group looking for someone specific.
The Story: A dark, action-packed and thrilling story from MacKay. The story is filled with great action and the narration delivers great atmosphere to the events being played out. I really enjoyed the twist in the story even though I could see it coming and the reveal at the end ramps up the drama and makes me interested in seeing where the story goes next.
The Art: Villa delivers beautiful action throughout the issue. The art does a beautiful job of conveying the drama and emotion of the battle as well.
