The Rundown: The Avengers travel to Alaska for a confrontation with Cyclops and his X-Men.
The Alaska base of the X-Men finds itself invaded by the Avengers who call for Cyclops to come out and face them. Fortunately, this is a friendly meeting and an even friendlier rivalry as the teams meet to share some fun and stories with each other as the shadow of darker threats continue to grow.
As both teams connect and reconnect with each other, Wanda has a meeting with her father, Hank gets some help from Tony Stark and Carol spends time with Scott telling him of the potential future threats the world faces as he informs her of the current threats mutants are dealing with. Threats that will call for a new understanding between the Avengers and the X-Men.
The Story: MacKay does a great job of building tension in the beginning of this story and then breaking that tension in an entertaining way. I like the story a lot and how it showcases the characters and how they interact with each other. There aren’t any particular stakes in the story, but it does do a great job of catching the teams up with each other through exposition and humor.
The Art: Schiti delivers beautiful art throughout the issue and I loved the visual style of the story. All of the characters look amazing.
