The Rundown: The Avengers take on 3-D Man and an army of Sentinels as Orchis continues to fall.
3D-Man has sent an army of Sentinels to attack the Impossible City and the mutants that the Avengers recently rescued. Yuna is trying to hold things together until Carol can return, but the city is not equipped to deal with the onslaught. As the Avengers complete their missions on Earth, Wanda decides to return to the city to fight off the assault.
As the Avengers return to orbit to protect the city, Carol makes a dramatic return. At the same time, Captain America and Black Panther go after 3D-Man and the Orchis base and T’Challa reveals something that could tip the balance of the conflict.
The Story: MacKay delivers blistering action and thrills throughout the story. The action is non-stop and delivers with each character. I really enjoyed the tension throughout the story and MacKay builds on that tension to a fantastic reveal that really showcased how methodical and intense T’Challa can be. I was shocked, surprised and thoroughly entertained by the twist in this story.
The Art: Mortarino delivers beautifully detailed art that perfectly captures the dramatic beauty of the story and the suspense of the action throughout it.
