The Rundown: Misty and Colleen are sent to stop a rampaging creature and find themselves in the middle of a nightmare.
The Daughters of the Dragon have some explaining to do to their new boss about their most recent training operation with Ben Reilly. An operation that involves having Spider-Man take on a haunted house full of twisted versions of the Avengers. In the aftermath, Misty and Colleen are dispatched downtown to deal with a problem Beyond thinks they are positioned to solve.
After confronting a creature in the heart of the city, the pair learn that one of the pieces of tech they used to stop it has transported them into one of their own simulations. Unfortunately, the only way they can escape it and its very real dangers is to find the creature they were fighting. As they fight to escape with their lives, they find something else of interest. Something that Beyond Corporation hopes to get its hands on.
The Story: While the story is light on Spider-Man action and presence, Jed MaKay does give the reader more insight into the Beyond Corporation, its mission and interests. Using Misty and Colleen in the story is a great touch and both the plotting and dialogue were fun.
The Art: Carlini delivers some great action based visuals throughout the issue. The story is filled with energy and Carlini captures that energy with art that constantly feels in motion.
