The Rundown: As the Sinister War continues, the grip of Kindred gets tighter.
Spider-Man is fighting for his life against an army of his deadliest foes as Mary Jane is spirited away by Mysterio. Quentin tells her what happened to him after he died and how he thought he could escape his deal with Kindred, but knows that he can’t. Mary Jane will discover that there has been a dark presence influencing her life almost from the beginning.
At the same time, Kindred has something planned for Norman Osborn as well. Something that will make him face his sins. While the forces gathered to kill Spider-Man continue to grow, Kindred decides that his next target will be Mary Jane herself and that Mysterio will be the one to deliver her to him.
The Story: Spidey’s story continues to get darker with this issue. Every dark arc seems to be leading to this and it will be interesting to see how Spencer brings all these elements together and how this story will grow and evolve. The story itself puts a lot of emphasis on Mary Jane and I am interested in seeing why. The side stories with both Harry and Norman Osborn are interesting as well and I want to see how their connection to Kindred drives the character and the arc going forward.
The Art: Vicentini and Sabbatini deliver some great art throughout the issue. From the action packed opening to the dark and scary cliffhanger ending, the art does a great job of matching the tone of the story.
