The Rundown: Spider-Man races to stop Tombstone before he kills the only witness against him.
Tombstone has fooled everyone, including his crew and made his way to the apartment his daughter shares with her fiancé in order to finish them both off before she can become a witness against him. Unfortunately, Janice is not as helpless as her father might think and she manages to hold her own.
Spider-Man races to the scene to stop the gang leader from killing his own daughter, but the man is relentless in his pursuits and Spider-Man will discover too late that there is no reasoning with Tombstone.
The Story: Wells crafts a story that is pure, unrelenting action and thrills. It is a dark story filled with emotion and terror from Janice as she finds herself in the crosshairs of her own father. The story does not let up on both the action and stakes when Peter arrives and there is a visceral tension in every interaction as you brace yourself to see what happens next. I was absolutely impressed with how unrelenting this story is and I look forward to seeing where it goes next.
The Art: Romita Jr. perfectly captures the tension, thrills and terror of this story with the art. The fight scenes are truly terrifying and unpredictable. You could feel every blow and impact as the art took you on an emotional and terrifying thrill ride.
