The Rundown: Peter fights the Goblin’s influence while Kamala leads a team to stop the man himself.
Spider-Man fights the influence of the Green Goblin while Norman continues to transfer his company and assets to Peter Parker. As he prepares for the next part of his plan, he is interrupted by Ms. Marvel and the small band she has brought together to stop hm.
As Norman fights off the attack and waits for Peter to return, Spider-Man arrives with something that could finally remove the Green Goblin’s influence from him, but it might have been part of Norman’s plans all along.
The Story: I’ve been following this arc from the beginning and this issue left me flat emotionally. It was a predictable mess both in its dialogue and execution. There was nothing in this issue that I could not predict coming a mile away and all of it was unsatisfying both as a reader and a fan. For the life of me I cannot understand what Wells is trying to accomplish with this arc because it’s so banal that I’m just waiting for it to finally end.
The Art: Nauck and McGuinness deliver beautiful art in this issue from a character design and action perspective.
