The Rundown: Peter Parker goes on a mission to help an old friend.
In the wake of the poisoning of the Krakoan medicine, Peter breaks into Ravencroft to pay a visit to Mary Jane’s aunt to administer the cure he helped develop with Norman Osborn. After seeing the effects of the infection firsthand, he gives her the injection, but she decides to stay and pay penance for her actions.
After meeting with Osborn to discuss his future, Peter meets with Mary Jane to visit the institution together. Peter discovers an old enemy on the premises trying to do the right thing while warning Peter that there are people who want him to return to his old life.
The Story: Wells delivers an interesting and subdued story in this issue. There’s a little too much exposition, but I really enjoyed the resolution of the Aunt Anna storyline as well as the consistent tension between Peter and Norman. I also really enjoyed the tease of what is coming for Spider-Man through the words of one of his oldest foes.
The Art: Carnero’s art is beautifully detailed and visually vibrant. A fantastic looking issue that showcases the characters brilliantly.

I really liked the early Tombstone storyline, but the reveal of the 1st issue mystery was underwhelming. I also didn’t like that Parker, a genius in his own right, desperately needs the help of Norman Osborn, especially with their dark history. I don’t know what Marvel needs to do to update the Peter Parker persona, but they should do it soon.
