Felicia Hardy has some things that she needs to work out.
After finding out the truth about Spider-Man and why she couldn’t remember her relationship with him, Black Cat decides she needs to work out some aggression. When she’s called by her former employee Hammerhead to a meeting, she decides to take out that aggression on his guards.
Only partially satisfied and reliving moments with Peter that are still flooding into her memory, she confronts Hammerhead. He offers her a job stealing some art from his missing partner The Owl and she agrees. When she hacks into Owl’s systems and finds the location of Taskmaster and Black Ant, she infiltrates the facility to find Owl locked up along with Billy Conners. When she finds out that it’s a setup to capture her, she makes one last desperate attempt to contact Spider-Man.
Nick Spencer is doing a great job of tying this story directly to the events of Hunted. As a reader, I wondered why Black Cat wasn’t being targeted by Kraven and this issue answers that question in a clever and entertaining way. At the same time, it helps give Felicia some character development going forward with her memories of her life with Peter restored. It’s going to be interesting to see where are when the dust settles.
Iban Coello has some amazing art in this issue. The characters look amazing. The details are beautiful and the action is intense. All of it works to tell an engaging and entertaining story.
