The Rundown: Titans past and present welcome a new group of young people who want to learn to become heroes.
A new group of young potential heroes makes their way to Titans Tower to train to possibly become the next generation of Titans. After orientation, some of them make their way to combat training with Nightwing where their instructor discovers that someone has tampered with the training program in order to have him fight a group of holograms dressed up like his former alter ego Red X.
As the new Titans take on Clock King off site, the students get used to being in the school while getting to know each other. At a celebration for Nightwing, the Titan receives an ominous gift. One that reminds him of a dark time in his life. As Dick contemplates the meaning of the gift, one of the students is harboring a dark secret of his own.
The Story. A well crafted first issue from Tim Sheridan. It does a great job of introducing the characters, conflicts and potential plot points that will be explored in the series. It also adds some elements of fun and familiarity with the characters, especially the former Titans. A fun issue that grabbed my attention and held my interest well enough to want to see what happens next.
The Art: Sandoval delivers some beautiful imagery throughout the issue. There are great character moments as well as beautiful details in every page.
