Fans of the Superman prequel series Krypton have gotten some good news ahead of the season finale.
According to Variety, SyFy has renewed the freshman series for a season two on the channel. The first season finale is scheduled to premiere May 23rd and the series has been a success for the network, bringing in an average 1.8 million viewers. It is also touted as SyFy’s most watched debut season of an original series since Ascension in 2014.
Krypton stars Cameron Cuffe as Superman’s grandfather Seg-El, who is both trying to restore the glory of his family name while also preventing the premature destruction of the planet by Brainiac. The series also stars Georgina Campbell, Shaun Sipos, Elliot Cowan, Ann Ogbomo, Aaron Pierre, Rasmus Hardiker, Wallis Day, Blake Ritson, and Ian McElhinney.
Krypton is produced by Warner Horizon Scripted Television and is executive produced by David S. Goyer via his Phantom Four banner, alongside Cameron Welsh, who serves as showrunner.
