The live action adaptation of Jeff Lemire’s comic book series Sweet Tooth is coming back for a second season on Netflix.
After bringing in almost 60 million viewers for its first season, it was a no brainer for the streaming service to bring back the series for a second season especially with the powerhouse trio of Susan Downey, Robert Downey Jr., and Amanda Burrell executive producing the series.
Sweet Tooth showrunner Jim Mickle released a statement saying; “It’s been equally thrilling and heartwarming to experience how people around the world have been falling in love with our deer-boy. We couldn’t be more excited to continue our collaboration with Netflix and keep following Gus and his friends on their extraordinary journey.”
Sweet Tooth tells the story of Gus, a part deer, part boy hybrid who grows up away from a society in decline due to a global pandemic. After his father is killed, he ventures out into a world he’s never seen in search of his mother, but finds new friendships and unknown dangers along the way.
The first season of Sweet Tooth is currently available on Netflix.
