The Rundown: Paprika makes a decision about her romantic future, but is it the right one?
Paprika has decided to be with Za’atar and Dill reluctantly steps back to allow her to be happy. Unfortunately, her first night with Za’atar is an awkward affair that ends with a little disappointment and Paprika contemplating how alike both she and Za’atar really are. She also finds that she cannot stop thinking about Dill.
When the day of the big movie event arrives, Paprika and Za’atar work to make sure everything goes off without a hitch while Paprika’s mother makes Burnet nervous with how similar his book is to Paprika’s writing when she was young. After Dill tries to give Za’atar some advice about how to treat Paprika, Za’atar rips into him prompting an unlikely defense that will bring new perspective and more surprises to Paprika.
The Story: Andolfo charms and delights with this issue. The story is so much fun and a true joy to read because of how wonderful the romance and comedy work together. There is a great tone to the story and mixed in with the comedy is great character growth from both Paprika and Dill. I love all the unexpected twists in the story and look forward to seeing where the story goes next.
The Art: Andolfo has a wonderful visual eye that enhances the charm of the story. The art is definitely not for kids, but it has such a gorgeous visual palate that cannot be denied.
