The Rundown: Clark gets a new ally with a secret while Lois seeks help from a member of the League.
Clark is still dealing with the psychological impact of his extended journey and while he was only gone for a few hours for Lois, his time in the other dimension continues to stretch out. Desperate for help for her husband, Lois enlists the help of Wonder Woman and the lasso of truth.
As Clark struggles, he thinks back on his battle with a new ally. The new Green Lantern is powerful, but unskilled and Clark takes her under his wing to give her guidance. Unfortunately, as he tries to make a community on the new planet he’s stuck on, betrayal will destroy it.
The Story: Priest continues to craft an interesting and engaging story in this issue. The plot continues to take some interesting turns while also giving a great psychological portrait of both Clark and Lois. There is some great tension in the story as well as action and intrigue. I really liked the interactions with Lois and Diana and how raw and honest their relationship is in relation to Clark.
The Art: Pagulayan delivers some beautifully detailed art throughout the issue. The visuals are stunning and filled with great action. The character moments are balanced perfectly to show Clark’s struggles.
