After the well received return of the Man of Steel on the small screen, it looks like the adventures of Superman and family will continue on The CW.
According to Deadline and other sources, the CW has renewed the freshman series for a season 2 based on the performance of the series premiere last week. CW Network Chairman and CEO Mark Pedowitz released a statement about the show’s performance saying; “We are thrilled to now have two brand-new bonafide hits in Superman and Walker, both of which have been renewed for next season along with 11 other of our shows, further positioning us for continued strength and stability for next season.”
The premiere of the series brought in the network’s best night of primetime viewing in two years. The premiere episode also attracted over 2.7 million more viewers to the network. Additionally, it brought in the largest day-one streaming audience for a new series in the history of the CW.
Superman & Lois airs Tuesday nights on The CW.
