The Rundown: As Lois investigates illegal arms sales, Russia prepares to take on Superman.
Lois makes her way to the docks of Metropolis and sees military personnel selling arms to foreign agents. A story that will end up with her being captured, left for dead and having to call Superman for help.
On the other side of the world, another piece of Krypton lands on a farm in Russia and the government decides to use it in a new suit that will be designed to take on and destroy Superman.
The Story: Venditti crafts an entertaining first issue that continues the world of the movie. It keeps the charm and tone of the films as it expands on the lore and the world of the characters. I like having the story craft new backstories for characters that feed into both the time the story takes place in and Superman lore. An enjoyable story with some great action and world building.
The Art: Guidry delivers some great art in the issue. The visual style works perfectly with the tone and world of the story.
