The Rundown: With more secrets of Metropolis being revealed, Lois Lane wants answers.
While Superman is taking on Toyman and his mechanized army, Lois Lane gathers the staff of the Planet together to have them pitch ideas. After sending them out, her staff begins to investigate many of the new faces that have been part of the city for years.
Even Lois decides to hit the streets when she pays a visit to Livewire and upsetting Red Cloud in the process. At the same time, Superman’s newest villains have a new plan that requires Lobo. In space, an enemy of Superman has plans that include the Czarnian as well.
The Story: I’ve always been hit or miss in my opinion about annuals, but Williamson crafts a good one with this issue. I loved seeing Lois as the focal point and how she utilizes her staff to uncover more about the secrets being revealed in the series. The story has some great moments for the characters and succeeds in making me more interested in them. I also really liked the final moments and what they mean for Superman going forward.
The Art: The artists deliver some great imagery throughout the issue and the action is brilliantly thrilling.
