The Rundown: Superman fights Lobo to rescue his family.

After teaming up with Lobo to find Brainiac and his army of Czarnian mercenaries, Lobo is confronted by his fellow Czarnians and decides to join them to bring down Superman. At the same time, Supergirl and Luthor find themselves in a bottled city being rescued by someone unexpected. Someone with direct connections to Brainiac.

Superman gets brought to Brainiac and discovers what the villain wanted him and his family for. A plan that will create a new threat to anyone with powers and that wants more power for itself.

The Story: Williamson delivers an entertaining story in this issue. The story has some great action and tension, but delivers on the one thing that took me out of the story. I have always looked at Lobo as a product of his time and easily dismissed him because of it, but this story cements my opinion that Lobo is the dumbest character both conceptually and narratively.

The Art: Sandoval and Mendonca deliver some great art throughout the issue. The visuals are beautifully detailed and perfectly capture the tone of the story.
