The Rundown: A kryptonite cloud threatens the city and its only hope lies with Lex Luthor.
Pharm and Graft have released a kryptonite gas into the city that will kill everyone. After subduing the villains, Superman and the others realize that the only person who can stop Lex’s mother is Lex himself.
As Lex takes to the skies to battle his mother armor versus armor, Superman rallies the rest of the staff of SuperCorp to find a solution to the gas problem. While Superman looks for a way to stop the gas and protect the city, he learns of Lex’s connection to Pharm and Graft and how it started in Smallville.
The Story: I continue to be impressed with this direction Williamson is taking this character and his world. The story has some wonderful layers throughout and does some interesting things in the expansion of the lore of both Lex and Metropolis. There are some great challenges for Superman in this series and Williamson teases an intriguing arc coming next.
The Art: Baldeon delivers some great art in the issue. Baldeon and Rapmund offer soaring action and visual thrills throughout the issue.
