The Rundown: Supergirl and Krypto join the rest of the House of El to stop the armies gathered to kill Jor-El as well as end the threat of Rogol Zaar, Jax-Ur and General Zod. Kara joins Clark and Jon in the battle as Jor-El works to get his ship repaired. In the midst of the battle Clark and Zod go one on one before the rest of the family regroups and drives back the villains in order to escape.
In the aftermath, Kara tells Clark everything she’s learned about the destruction of Krypton, the Circle and the role of Rogol Zaar in the planet’s destruction. Clark confronts his father about what he knows and demands that he fill in the blanks. What he finds out will change everything he believes about why he was sent from the planet and Clark finds himself investigating the conspiracy to destroy the planet at the behest of someone he never thought he could trust.
The Story: Brian Michael Bendis does a great job of bringing all of the story elements that he has been building this year together in a way that not only satisfies the reader that’s been following this arc, but also deepens the mystery while adding new and entertaining elements to it. I really liked the dialogue and interactions in this issue and found the new revelations and mysteries about Krypton, Jor-El and the Circle to be engaging.
The Art: Ivan Reis always delivers amazingly detailed and stunning art and this issue is no different. The action is breathtaking and the characters look amazing.
