The Rundown: Kara’s reunion with her adopted father leads to a confrontation with Leviathan and the reveal of another member of his organization.
Jeremiah Danvers is alive and Kara couldn’t be happier. Unfortunately, her joy is tempered by the fact that they are both in the morgue where Eliza’s body is being stored. After a failed attack from Leviathan, both Kara and Jeremiah leave so the former DEO agent can explain to Supergirl what happened while she was in space.
When the agent watching the pair is joined by Leviathan himself, she is told to attack Jeremiah, who recognizes who she is. Leviathan decides to make Kara an offer to join his organization only to be violently rebuffed. At the same time, the gift Lex gave to Brainiac’s probe drives the machine to give itself some deadly upgrades.
The Story: There isn’t a moment to rest for Kara in this issue and Marc Andreyko does a brilliant job of bringing Supergirl into the Leviathan storyline without missing a beat. The plot is well done and the dialogue hits the right tone for this story. Leviathan continues to be an interesting character and it will be interesting to see how Kara deals with both this issue and the Justice/Doom war raging around her as well.
The Art: Pansica’s art is fantastic. All of the characters look great and the action is fantastic.
