The Rundown: The House of El is reunited just in time for Kara to join the fight to save Jor-El from an armada bent on destroying him. Add in Rogol Zaar, Jax-Ur and Zod in the mix and you have a recipe for disaster. Thankfully, Kara is not alone as she finds herself fighting alongside Superman, Superboy and Krypto. Rogol Zaar is determined to get his axe back from Kara, but she decides the only way he’s going to get it is from the business end.
As the House of El turns the ride of the fight, Kara and Jon decide that they are going to pay a visit to the woman responsible for the death order for Krypton itself and Supergirl is not in the mood to be subtle.
The Story: Marc Andreyko serves up some great action in this issue and makes sure that the reader doesn’t forget that this is Kara’s book. It would be easy to fold her story into Superman’s, but Andreyko manages to bring the story together in a way that keeps Kara the focus even after she meets up with her family. The narration by Kara does that well. Getting Supergirl back into her own battle with Gandelo is handled well and the addition of Jon to the fight adds an interesting new element.
The Art: Kevin Maguire and Eduardo Pansica provide some impressive and beautiful art. The action is great and all of the characters and details look amazing.
