Kara’s journey has taken her from the Green Lantern planet of Mogo to the outskirts of the galaxy and a bar frequented by some shady individuals. As she asks the question that no one wants her to, she uses her super hearing to isolate the one person in the room nervous enough to tell her what she wants to know. With her quarry in sight, Supergirl springs into action just in time to be confronted with a group of aliens who are grateful that Krypton was destroyed.

Instead of doing what her cousin would have wanted, Kara decides to call in Krypto for a good old-fashioned bar brawl. Unfortunately, she is running out of solar energy and the fight might end sooner than she thought. As Kara fights for answers, she is unaware that a member of the Circle has sent operatives to keep an eye on her.

Kara’s mission continues to be an interesting one and Andreyko does some great development of Supergirl as a character. He manages to make her an independent person outside of the Superman dynamic and that allows her to be her own person forging her own legend in the universe. I enjoyed the pace of this issue and all of the action beats in it. I was especially impressed with how Andreyko ended this issue. It was a dynamic and dramatic moment that made me interested in what happens next.

Shaner’s art is great. There are some great panels in this issue, especially the ones that conceal a character through the use of shadow. Shaner’s work on the first few pages with Kara listening to the crowd are amazing to look at and add a lot to the character.
