The Rundown: A young man travels to a Greek island to find his lost love, but a darker mystery stalks the waters.
Nick has decided to travel to a small Greek island in search of the young man he was in love with. At the same time, a coast guard agent is confronted by a young boy with a story about a missing friend. A missing friend who ran into some strange people on the beach who took him away to a boat off the coast.
As Nick tries to find out why Anthony disappeared he finds himself confronted by a stranger on the beach who warns him to leave the island. That night, a local priest receives strange visitor who leaves him an interesting gift.
The Story: John Harris Dunning delivers an engaging and interesting first issue. The story has an entertaining dark and ominous tone and a mystery at the heart of it that grabbed my attention. All of the characters seem interesting in their own ways and having the story told from different points of view adds more layers to the mystery and the setting. I really love the mystery of the antagonists in the story as well and I desperately want to know more about them.
The Art: Cabral delivers beautiful art in the issue. I truly enjoy the visual style and how it balances the darker elements with the beauty of the setting.
