The Rundown: The Suicide Squad head to space to carry out a mission for Waller.
On Task Force X Island, Waller and Rodriguez discuss their precarious situation and current plans. Soon, the Suicide Squad return from their previous mission and receive new orders. Then the team head into space where they are tasked with obtaining a dangerous ally. After a conflict with unexpected, enemies, Ambush Bug plays a crucial part in achieving their goal. Finally, the Suicide Squad have a deadly encounter.
The Story: I really enjoyed this chapter. It does a good job of mixing action with plot development. I am especially fond of Ambush Bug. His acknowledgement of the comic book universe that he is a part of is hysterical. It brings a much-needed lightness to a tale that can easily become serious or melancholy. Talon is also a favorite. Unpacking his journey is interesting and I am curious how he and several other characters will move forward with their plans. I definitely look forward to the next episode.
The Art: This beautiful issue is filled with detailed drawings and bold coloring. I found the panels to be eye-catching and enjoyable. The attention given to character expression and form create a deep emotional draw, and the action sequence were flawless.
