The Rundown: The Suicide Squad go on a mission to recover a previous member from captivity. Arkham Asylum is under assault by a deadly force.
While attempting a rescue, The Suicide Squad suddenly find themselves in imminent danger. Back up team members arrive at Arkham Asylum to provide assistance. As the entire institution is under attack, several team members must make a decision on whether or not to help the staff and inmates to safety. Meanwhile, Amanda Waller continue to controls the team’s narrative.
The Story: This issue is exciting and filled with action. I like watching the team dynamics play out. It is interesting to see how the various squad member’s deal with high pressure situations. Especially those that are plagued with a conscience. Waller is terrifying with her machinations, and I am left to wonder: Whose side is she really on?
The Art: Eduardo Pansica creates extremely detailed drawings that makes excellent use of character expressions. Brilliant colors and dark tones highlight this work. The result is a beautiful issue that transports you deeper into the story and makes you feel the brutality and danger of the events.
