Will Byers is desperate to find an escape as danger gets closer.
As Will moves through the upside down, he goes back and forth to places in the parallel world that he knows from the real world. Standing in the cemetery, Will can hear the sounds of his own funeral and it prompts him to find a way to communicate with the outside world.
He gets more frustrated when he begins to get messages from the outside world and his fear only grows when he senses that the Demogorgon is getting closer. When Will runs into the woods, he finds one of the monster’s victims from his world. A victim who is looking for another right before Nancy emerges from a tree.
This issue does a good job of filling in the other side of the story from Will’s perspective. Houser adds some well paced suspense to the story and it is effective. Stefano Martino has some richly detailed art that brings the story to life with each panel.
