The Rundown: The report is out and as bad as it is, reality might just be worse.
The report from the Justice League has been released and Alanna immediately goes into spin mode to try to mitigate what it says to the press and the American people. As the heroes of Earth continue to fight off the Pykkts, Alanaa and Adam continue to fight the media war and on that front, they are winning. Unfortunately for one hero, Adam’s desperation to prove himself to his peers might get one of them killed as Terrific reflects on his obligation to the truth.
Back on Rann, Adam engages in an operation that could change the face of the war and give them an advantage. An operation that includes some unsavory elements if it is to succeed. As he commits a heinous act for the sake of the planet, Adam will have to reflect on who he has become and how much this war will cost him.
The Story: King continues to craft an interesting, nuanced and well plotted mystery in the pages of this issue. Both sides of the story are compelling in different ways and the mystery at the heart of the story continues to be intriguing. Seeing Adam compromise for the sake of the planet’s survival is a great dramatic moment that makes me more engaged in the conflict and what Adam has to do with its escalation.
The Art: Gerads and Shaner deliver some beautiful visuals to both parts of this story. I continue to be impressed with the styles and how they compliment each other.
