The Rundown: When one of their own goes missing, the students decide to go after him with no plan and no backup.
Calvin didn’t return to the school after the students ended their game of door tag and no one seemed to notice as they continue to get to know each other while also dealing with their own personal and interpersonal dramas. When German and Zoe discover Calvin’s jacket floating in the river, the students gather to decide what to do next.
After deciding to go after Calvin and using his jacket as a mean of tracking him, the students discover who has taken their classmate and prepare to rescue him.
At the same time, Doctor Strange returns to the Academy to have a discussion with Brother Voodoo about an interesting and unexpected development that involves one of the students.
The Story: Skottie Young continues to craft a fun and engaging story in this issue. Not only are the characters consistently interesting, but the plot continues to grow and evolve in ways that keep my interest as a reader. There is a light, fun element to both the story and the dialogue and those things make you learn and care more about the characters. It will be interesting to see where the story goes next and how it will evolve along with its characters.
The Art: Humberto Ramos perfectly captures the pace, energy and style of the story with the art. The tone of the imagery is perfect and there are some great character moments as well as great backgrounds and panel progression
