The Rundown: Storm’s actions to save a town could result in not only more hatred towards mutants, but her own death.

After saving a town devastated by an explosive event, Storm finds herself dealing not only with the positive attention her actions have given to mutants, but the dark truth behind what really happened.

After stopping an explosion that leveled a town, Storm finds herself confronting the being who caused it and the ramifications of what that means for her and mutants. Ramifications that will also have a direct affect on her as eyes from beyond the stars watch her with another purpose.

The Story: Ayodele creates an engaging and compelling first issue for Storm. I love the exploration of her identity in the beginning and how that exploration leads to her moral dilemma. It showcases how complicated a character Ororo is. Beyond the deeply interesting personal story for the character, there are moments with great action and drama as Storm deals with not only a moral decision, but the possible worldwide ramifications of it as well as a personal crisis. This is a great start to this series and I look forward to seeing where it goes next.

The Art: Werneck delivers some beautifully detailed and visually stunning art throughout the issue. I love the visual style of this story and how it presents Storm throughout it.
