The Rundown: Coldwater revolts and Daniel tries to find a way to stop the carnage.
After learning the truth about Clara and her connection to the immortality of Stillwater, Daniel and the others are looking for a way to protect the woman and her secret. At the same time, the mayor of Coldwater meets with her sheriff to begin their plan to stop Galen and Stillwater from taking over. A plan that will begin with them trying to protect the most precious commodity they have, their children.
As Galen and his forces hunt for Daniel and Clara, Coldwater erupts in violence with the citizens fighting back against their Stillwater chaperones. As the riot gets bigger and more violent, Daniel finds himself facing the growing mob and trying to stop the cycle of violence consuming them all, but it might be too late.
The Story: An entertaining and intense story that beautifully ramps up the intrigue and action of the series. Zdarsky does a brilliant job of weaving the different narratives together and making all parts of it compelling. Even more compelling than the action are the conflicts between the characters and their philosophies. I cannot wait to see how those ideas to continue to clash.
The Art: Ramon K. Perez delivers some beautiful, brutal and wonderfully detailed art throughout the issue. The action is visually thrilling and the art wonderfully contrasts some of the moments that have happened throughout the series.
