The Rundown: Daniel, Laura and Tanya have returned to Stillwater and Galen finds control harder than he imagined.
Daniel, Laura and Tanya have returned to Stillwater, shocking everyone not only with their presence but with their message. A message that will make things dangerous for them and everyone who follows them. Galen and Ted meet with the three and Daniel’s words sow seeds of doubt in the leader. The reality of trying to run two towns, one of whom is used to being connected to the outside world, doesn’t help either.
As a way of getting Daniel and the others to break their peaceful facade, Ted decides to go after someone close to the group. Someone that will force them to act. After taking her and burying her alive, Daniel does act. In the aftermath, he discovers that the person he came to save might have more of a connection to what happened in Stillwater than anyone realizes.
The Story: Zdarsky delivers some awesome character development in a story that is fun, engaging and entertaining from start to finish. I love the way Daniel and the others return and how their presence agitates the powers that be in the town. Everything in the story works and leads to a fantastic reveal that is both shocking and powerful. I cannot wait to see what the repercussions of the reveal will be.
The Art: Ramon K Perez delivers some fantastic art in the issue. The visuals are thrilling and visually engaging throughout.
