The Rundown: Galen begins his plans for the town of Coldwater and a strange return threatens everything.
Galen gathers his forces for the next part of his plan, expansion. After paying a visit to the town of Coldwater and having his forces surround the area, he pays a visit to the mayor and starts his plan to take over by turning off all of their technology and forcing them all to meet in the town square where he reveals exactly what is happening to them.
Weeks later, things are still tense as the residents of Coldwater attempt to get used to both their new immortality and the people who now run their day to day lives. As Galen gets an earful from one of his new subjects, rumbles of an interesting return have him on edge. Things get even more interesting when Galen is confronted by people he actually fears.
The Story: Zdarsky delivers a great story in this issue. There are some great moments throughout and even with the tension being as high as it is in this issue, the plot takes great pains to showcase something new for the reader in the new environment of Coldwater. I love how the story builds up the tension of “The Three” and when they finally arrive, it is an awesome reveal.
The Art: Ramon K Perez delivers some fantastic art in the issue. The art does a brilliant job of crafting the mood and scope of the area and its characters. A wonderful looking issue with a beautifully surprising final page.
