The Rundown: Virgil gets an upgrade and his enemy gets more power.
After finding a Hardware secret stash, Virgil is surrounded by the police. As he uses his powers to evade and escape, his old nemesis is offering to bring in any Bang Babies he can find if they let him go. At the same time, Darius finds himself trying to help Daisy after she reveals her new powers. All the while, the media is portraying anyone who was at the protest and effected by the gas to be possible gang members with ties to Holocaust.
Virgil makes his way home with his haul and avoids his family in order to begin work on something he can use to help others. After having a heart to heart with his dad and talking with his friends, Virgil is ready to return to his life. Unfortunately, Hotstreak returns with a new look, new authority and some dangerous government backed friends.
The Story: Things are getting more tense for Virgil in this issue and Ayala does a great job of balancing all the different story elements. There is a lot going on and each moment is engaging as a reader. I like the evolution of Virgil in this issue, but also the growing and expanding cast of characters as well. The world being created is interesting and I cannot wait to see how it continues to grow, expand and evolve.
The Art: Draper-Ivey and Chriscross have brilliant visual styles and those styles come through on every page. Each page and panel is filled with great detail as well as awesome characters and action focus.
