The Rundown: Darth Vader joins the gathering at Qi’ra’s auction and stakes his claim on a prized possession.
Darth Vader confronts the Hutts and they soon give in to his demands. Afterwards, Qi’ra tries to redeem compensation from the Sith Lord. To her surprise, Vader proves to be a formidable opponent. Meanwhile, Boba Fett gets into a quiet altercation with familiar operatives of the Rebellion. He then sets his sights on Vader. However, the arrival of someone unexpected soon changes everything.
The Story: This action packed chapter is filled with thrilling fight scenes and interesting character interactions. Its always a treat when Darth Vader makes his presence known. But, in this episode, Qi’ra really sparks my interest. I want to know more of her story. The one downside to this story, is its place in the Star Wars universe. The stakes never feel high, because the overall outcome is common knowledge. Nevertheless. I found this narrative to be fun and very transportive.
The Art: The art in this issue is very detailed. The emphasis on character expression and form are very connective. And the fight scenes are well done and interesting.
