The next Star Wars series coming to Disney Plus, The Acolyte, has begun production in the UK and Deadline revealed that more stars have joined the cast of the upcoming series.
The Acolyte is a mystery thriller that takes place in the final days of the High Republic era. It will tell the story of a former Padawan reuniting with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the crimes they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated. The Jedi will face off against the rise of the dark side and the shadowy secrets that surround it.
Amandla Stenberg (The Hate You Give), Lee Jung-Jae (Squid Game), Manny Jacinto (The Good Place) and Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen & Slim) were already confirmed for the cast, but they will be joined by Dafne Keen (Logan), Rebecca Henderson (Inventing Anna), Charlie Barnett (Russian Doll), Dean-Charles Chapman (Game of Thrones) and Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix).
Disney and Lucasfilm have put a lot into telling new stories with new characters from the High Republic era through novels to comics, so it will be interesting to see how that world transfers to live action.
