The Rundown: The Rebellion mounts a desperate mission to save one of its architects.
Mon Mothma has been kidnapped and her captor decides to spend some time with the Rebel leader to get information about why she decided to leave her privileged life to join the rebellion. Mon Mothma obliges by giving the woman the truth of why she joined and the revelations that led to her decision.
At the same time, Madine and Leia decide to mount a rescue mission and they need Lando’s help. Unarmed and under suspicion, Lando travels with the strike team in order to rescue Mon Mothma facing danger at every turn.
The Story: A thrilling and intense issue that does a fantastic job of giving context to the bigger struggles of the rebellion in the conversation between Mon Mothma and her captor. There are some moments that felt a little forced, but they worked in context to what Soule is trying to say in this series and this arc. There is a great momentum to the story as well and I liked seeing how this particular part of it came to an end.
The Art: Musibekov crafts some wonderful art throughout the issue. The visuals create some wonderful visual moments that kept me engaged with the action and danger of the story.
