The Rundown: Leia will face a daunting test as she hunts down Commander Zahra.
The Tarkin’s Will has been brought down and the rebels victorious. Unfortunately, it has cost them a lot and Commander Zahra has managed to escape to the planet’s surface. When the imperial sends Leia a message, she goes after her with Chewbacca and members of Starlight Squadron.
After locating the source of her signal, Leia and some of her fellow rebels hunt Zahra through a series of dangerous caves. Caves that are perfect for setting traps. With Leia having to confront her feelings about the Commander, the two have a final showdown that could prove deadly.
The Story: Soule crafts an entertaining and tension filled chase story that is filled with thrilling moments while also showcasing the evolution of Leia as a leader. I like seeing Leia interact with Zahra and the story gives each a sense of strength and will that make their conflict more satisfying as they engage with each other. The story is thrilling, dark and engaging as it brings Leia into a darker place and forces her to choose a path.
The Art: Rosanas and Musabekov deliver some wonderfully detailed visuals throughout the issue. The art definitely enhances the thrilling elements of the story.
