The Rundown: A derelict ship will bring the Voyager crew face to face with a new race and an old story.

The Voyager crew finds themselves facing a massive derelict ship with no life signs adrift in the Delta Quadrant. Janeway sends over an away team to search for survivors and the team finds a series of stasis tubes holding the crew of the ship. After waking up their leader, Janeway is told the story of the ship and its people. A story that is similar to their own.

After Janeway offers to help the ship, Seven is tasked with helping them repair their damaged warp core. As she works with the labor caste of the ship, she discovers how they are treated and is determined to find a way to help.

The Story: Dave Baker crafts a great first issue for this story. The themes of the plot are deep and have a resonance that makes the story more interesting and engaging. I really enjoyed how this story is being crafted and it is building to something that has deep roots in what makes Star Trek prescient and compelling.

The Art: Angel Hernandez nails the look and feel of Star Trek, especially Voyager and her crew. There is some great imagery in this issue and the style perfectly matches the tone of the plot.
