The Rundown:
In the brief rest between challenges, Picard goes to see Guinan for advice on how to proceed. She tells him that there is something different about Q in regards to this conflict. Something that is making his moves desperate. Something that could be used as an advantage by Picard.
Q arrives to begin the next challenge. One that will take all the crews and their ships to Deep Space Nine. In front of the wormhole, Q declares that the next challenge is to have the mysterious Prophets reveal themselves. Each team begins their plans to peacefully contact the Prophets including Sisko, but when Kirk decides to take the Enterprise into the wormhole to speak to the aliens directly, they decide to confront Q and show him what real power looks like.
The Story:
Scott and David Tipton continue to do an excellent job of crafting and interesting and entertaining story that brings these iconic characters together in ways that are both true to their characters and entertaining for fans. The dialogue is fantastic and all of the character interactions are well written. One of the best parts of the issue is the surprise reveal at the end which calls back to other moments in Q’s journey with the Enterprise crew.
The Art:
Silvia Califano offers some beautiful and amazingly detailed art throughout this issue. All of the characters look great and I love all the background details.
