The Rundown: The mirror universe next generation crew discover the location of their missing crewman.
The Enterprise crew runs into trouble when a simple robbery turns into a Cardassian trap. After barely making it back to the Enterprise, an enraged Picard wants answers. With things getting more dangerous in the galaxy, Picard is called by Imperial Command who wants to know why he was not able to procure the parallel universe Enterprise they were promised. Unsatisfied, the Enterprise is called back to Earth and Picard finds himself facing down a deadly assassin. In the aftermath, suspicions mount as the ship makes it way to Earth.
After being berated for his recent failures, Picard is determined to prove them all wrong. At the same time, Data has a meeting with Troi where he laments the loss of Barclay while La Forge discovers something interesting in the other universe. Something that prompts him to bring the Captain in for a debriefing. A debriefing that will return a lost crewman and begin a new plan to plunder the parallel universe.
The Story: Scott and David Tipton tease an interesting new story in this issue. Showcasing the mirror universe is always interesting, but this issue sets up the characters well and gives the reader an engaging look at the culture and politics of this universe. The characters are unique and entertaining throughout and it will be interesting to see where the story goes once it really gets going.
The Art: Carlos Nieto does great work with the art in the issue. The character designs are dynamic and there are some great details throughout the panels.
