The Rundown: The Enterprise crew flies through a lighting storm, but the bigger danger may be inside the ship.
As the race continues, the Enterprise finds itself fighting through a lightning storm to catch up. After receiving information from another Captain in the race, Pike decides to search the ship for anything Zephyx might have hidden on board. At the same time, Una is betrayed by Captain Corsok after trying to find a way to work them and Spock becomes more connected to the Karogie ship.
As Pike looks for ways to get the ship out of the storm, the crew discover that their reluctant crew addition has her own agenda as the Rovok crew attempt to take the Enterprise.
The Story: Johnson and Parrott craft an action packed and exciting story in this issue. The plot is filled with intrigue, mystery, suspense and betrayal. I like seeing these characters interact both with each other and with the aliens they are in the midst of. Spock’s story is compelling and I look forward to seeing how it develops. There is a great episodic feel to this issue that makes me excited for the next issue.
The Art: Hernandez delivers great art in the issue. There is a lot more action in this issue and the art doesn’t disappoint as it brings to life both the intensity of the race and the attempted taking of the Enterprise.
