The Rundown: The Enterprise hunts for the Illyrians who kidnapped one of their own while Spock makes a strange discovery.
Pike and the rest of the Enterprise crew are on the hunt for the Illyrian ship that kidnapped Spock and escaped the system. At the same time, the genetically altered Spock is sent down to the Illyrian home world where he discovers a structure that will take him on a journey to the past. A journey that will bring him to the world in its prime as a member of a Vulcan delegation.
As Spock continues to uncover the mystery of what happened to the Illyrian home world, a storm will cause Pike and the arriving Enterprise to brave both the Illyrian ship and the toxic planet in order to rescue one of their own.
The Story: Beyer and Johnson continue to craft an intriguing mystery that has some thrilling and interesting moments. The story is entertaining and there are enough character moments and discoveries to keep me interested and engaged as a Star Trek fan. I look forward to seeing where this story goes next.
The Art: Levens delivers some beautifully detailed art on every page of the issue. From the beautifully done backgrounds to the emotive characters, the art transports the reader to the world of these characters.
