Star Trek Discovery Returns for Season 2 and the series will be leaning heavily into Star Trek canon for season 2 with the appearance of the Enterprise, a new mission lead by Captain Christopher Pike that is connected to his science officer, Spock.
According to Deadline, CBS All-Access has found their Mr. Spock for season 2 of Discovery.
Ethan Peck has been cast as Mr. Spock for season 2 of the CBS All Access series. Peck will be the third actor to portray the iconic character since the role was originated by the late Leonard Nimoy. Actor Zachary Quinto took on the role in the JJ Abrams rebooted film series.
“Through 52 years of television and film, a parallel universe and a mirror universe, Mr. Spock remains the only member of the original bridge crew to span every era of Star Trek,” said Discovery executive producer Alex Kurtzman. “The great Leonard Nimoy, then the brilliant Zachary Quinto, brought incomparable humanity to a character forever torn between logic and emotion,” Kurtzman added of Spock, whose return he revealed at Comic-Con last month. “We searched for months for an actor who would, like them, bring his own interpretation to the role. An actor who would, like them, effortlessly embody Spock’s greatest qualities, beyond obvious logic: empathy, intuition, compassion, confusion, and yearning.”
Ethan Peck is the grandson of actor Gregory Peck and is known for his roles in series like 10 Things I Hate About You, Madam Secretary and films like In Time and The Curse of Sleeping Beauty.
