The Rundown: Sela travels to the past to discover a truth about herself.
Disgraced by her many failures with Romulan intelligence, Sela decides to get information that will bring her back into favor with her government. When she discovers that her info is not the golden ticket she believed it would be, she decides on another plan that will involve time travel to get information that will ruin the empire.
After using the device, she finds herself in the middle of a war zone and alongside her mother Tasha Yar. A meeting that will reveal the truth of her past that she’s hidden and could lead to a new life for Sela in the future.
The Story: Cantwell crafts an interesting new direction for a character that always had more complexity that I wanted to see explored. The story has some great moments of connection within it and I liked Sela’s narration throughout. It does a great job of showing that the character is damaged not by her circumstances, but the consequence of her choices and I look forward to seeing what she does with her new life.
The Art: Rosanas beautifully captures the tone and mood of the story with art that is compelling and visually engaging.
