The Rundown: The crew of the Defiant gets an unexpected visitor once thought dead.

In a remote part of the galaxy, two con artists fleece local traders out of latinum by hawking a fake cure for a fake plague. One of the members is Berlinghoff Rasmussen and the other is the believed dead Nymira Vondect. At the same time, the crew of the Defiant waits while Miles faces off against the Cardassians and Section 31.
Nymira and Rasmussen find themselves thrown out of the system and while they try to escape, they find they can’t leave. As they investigate the force keeping them stuck, they discover its connection to Lore and race to warn the Defiant as a wave of energy overtakes the galaxy.
The Story: As everything seems to be gearing up for Lore War, I found it difficult to get into this story knowing it doesn’t really go anywhere for the crew of the Defiant. I like seeing that Nymira is alive, but her resurrection does take away from her character’s emotional arc and I’m glad they addressed it in this issue. Other than some pleasant surprises, the issue felt more like a filler storyline to get the characters in position for the next arc.
The Art: Unzueta delivers fantastic art throughout the issue. The visuals are beautifully detailed and deliver on the tone of the story.
