The Rundown: While Worf and the crew of the Defiant prepare for a Romulan invasion, Spock tries to escape and Miles goes on a rescue mission.
Worf, Torres and Ro continue to work on ways to slow down the impending Romulan invasion of Antara. While Worf tries to encourage the locals to defend their home, Torres and Ro find ships that could help them in the upcoming battle.
At the same time, Miles has command of the Defiant and is on his way to Antara when he is stopped by a shuttle piloted by an old friend who tells him Section 31 wants him to stand down. Sela defies her father and attempts to free Spock leading the pair on a dangerous escape mission.
The Story: There are a lot of moving parts to this story. Not all of them work and throw off the pacing of the story at times. I like the ramp up of Sela’s story and how it ties in with Spock. I like the reunion between Miles and Bashir and how it connects to Section 31. The story on Antara is where things slow down at took me out of the fast pace and thrills of the bigger story. The moments with the Romulans on the planet also felt out of place, but the overall story is solid and entertaining.
The Art: Unzueta delivers beautiful art throughout the issue. I continue to love the visual style and the action was beautifully detailed and visually thrilling.
