The Rundown: Worf and the others fight to defeat the parasitic infection before it’s too late.
Worf and Ro continue to take on the parasitic infection on Starbase 99. At the same time, Nymira contemplates her next move including running off with the Defiant. Sela confronts Spock as he struggles with being connected to the hive mind of the parasites and Torres continues to struggle with being part of Hugh’s collective.
With giant parasites about to breach into their world, Worf and the crew need to push them back before they infect the universe. At the same time, a ghost from Sela’s past prepares for a new mission that will force her to make a decision about her future.
The Story: Cantwell brings this arc to an action packed conclusion filled with intense drama and sacrifice. The story has great moments for the characters, but the Sela/Spock dynamic felt a little overdramatic. I liked the buildup of suspense throughout the story, but ultimately Nymira’s storyline felt rushed to the point of not really understanding her actions or the motivation behind them. The final moments of the story are entertaining and I look forward to the next arc.
The Art: Unzueta’s art is fantastic. It captures the action perfectly and delivers on the drama of the story visually.
