The Rundown: The crew of the Defiant fight to survive an army of parasites.
B’Elanna Torres has entered into a limited collective with Hugh in order to keep the parasite in check. At the same time, he has access to the starbase systems and discovers that there is a doorway that the parasites have been coming through. Worf decides to lead the team to the doorway to end the threat.
The forces within the station begin to converge and the Defiant crew find themselves in the fight of their lives while one of them leaves the others behind to deal with a personal issue. As things become bleak, they receive some unexpected help from Sela and discover where Spock has been.
The Story: Cantwell continues to craft a thrilling and suspenseful adventure in this issue. The character drama continues to be fun and filled with great interpersonal tension. There is great action throughout the story as well as a compelling build up of suspense that leads to some great moments for the characters. I really enjoyed the introduction of Sela into this issue and how strange and enjoyable this team is. I look forward to seeing where this story goes next.
The Art: Unzueta continues to craft beautiful and engaging art throughout the issue. The visuals are compelling and beautifully detailed.
